rutec has a long, successful company history to look back on. Founded on 1 September 1990 from the former lighting appliance department of Impex International GmbH, rutec took advantage of the booming halogen light market and established its business in at a rented location in Weyhe, not far from Bremen.
As early as 1992, rutec relocated to its own office and warehouse site in Syke, approx. 26 km south of Bremen. As a result of the expansion of the programme to include embedded lights, the facilities already had to be expanded in 1996, doubling the company’s area. The addition of the BEORN and TELPERION technical lights in 2005 led the warehouse to be expanded by an further third, thus completely occupying the area of the property.
The construction of an additional warehouse building from the ground up began in 2006, taking place 100 metres away on Boschstrasse. The opening took place in 2007, with 600m2 of additional warehouse space on Carl-Zeiss-Strasse.
This puts us at approx. 1,500m2 of office and warehouse space which we have at our disposal today, with a total storage capacity of approx. 1,100 pallets. Our first company-owned lorry hit the road in 2008.
Our number of employees has risen from 2 in 1990 to 13 in 2008.
Furthermore, rutec is offering an apprenticeship position for business in wholesale and export trade for the first time in 2008.
